Why A Laptop Over A Desktop?

It has become almost necessary to own a laptop. Why? Simple: Our lifestyles demand that we move around regularly. Many professionals have to go on business trips too often. They have to take all their work with themselves. You can’t take a desktop with you, can you? Laptops are the perfect option here. Take them as you wish. 

However, laptops aren’t only about portability. There are quite a few other such aspects which add to the utility of owning a laptop. They are as competent as a good desktop computer is. These days, laptops have as powerful a processor as a desktop computer does and the screen size keeps getting bigger and better. 

I can’t think of anything a desktop can do that a laptop computer can’t. In most cases, you won’t need to buy an extra add-on unlike a desktop computer. Say you want a camera, it’s right there in your laptop. Wi-fi? You got that too. USB ports? It’s there. Optical drive? Yep. Desktop computers can be rather inconvenient and over time, costly. If you need an add-on, you need to purchase it. On top of that, you also need to make sure it is compatible with your computer. 

Another huge benefit of laptops is that they run off of batteries. This means that you can continue working even if the power’s gone! Many laptops today run for 4-5 hours on the battery itself which is a huge convenience. You don’t have to worry about saving files once in a while. You can keep working at your own speed and without any hassles. 

The best benefit of laptops, for me, is that I’m always online with a laptop and a tiny dongle. Easy as it gets. Plus, you can convert a laptop into your home theatre at no cost. Do just about anything you’d want: watch slideshows, movies or listen to music at full volume! It can’t get a lot better than that.
