You don’t have to rely on the establishment to get your band the attention you know it so richly deserves. With the wealth of tools available on the internet, there is no excuse for any band to not make their own way in the music world.

Next, shell out the ten bucks a month to invest in an autoresponder service. This will be worth the investment as it will let you connect with your fans without taking the individualized attention that answering individual emails would require.

Have a short promotional video about your band made. This doesn’t have to be fancy, but it does have to be fun. And don’t forget to put in a link to your autoresponder with a blurb about finding more information by signing up.

Post your video on YouTube next. It’s a terrific promotional tool, especially if your video is entertaining. Remember, as always, to include links to your own web site, so impressed viewers have the chance to get more information.

Every web site visitor is a potential fan, so make sure flog your web site as shamelessly as possible. You can even include a plea to visit at the end of your YouTube video. Then you can sit back a wait for the influx of visitors. Remember, each visitor is a potential fan waiting to be converted.

Once you have people signed up to your email list, make use of it. Send updates every week, regardless of whether you have anything to say. Send links to free music or information about upcoming shows. It is just important to make sure you are at the front of people’s minds when they are online.
