The Wifi Reports Review-Is the Kindle DX the Answer California Education?

The latest and greatest version of Amazon’s ebook reader won’t be bought with chump change. If you want to buy Kindle DX, get ready to pull out the big bucks.

The 10-inch screen on the Kindle DX makes for relaxing reading of PDf documents. Business reports and textbooks are are breeze to tackle as formatting is not a problem.

The Kindle Dx can orient its screen vertically or horizontally. This doesn’t do much for e-books, but it makes all the difference if you are reading a PDF. Now if your are trying to browse the web with this device , it will be a hurry and and wait strategy , but that not a real big deal since you will using this for reading.

The Kindle DX does comes at a price. $490 is a high price to pay in this economy. But California’s Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger wants to have science and math textbooks in digital form for the state’s secondary schools by this fall.

The state is reviewing 20 free math and science e-books that will be available to secondary education teachers soon. The state will let the schools decide how to get the content to students. Possibilities range from printing to handing the students CD versions. This open source solution could save California millions.

Price point for the unit is the big caveat.. If this could be lowered, the Kindle DX could be off and running in not time. In the meantime if you really want to buy Kindle DX, start saving some Franklins.
