The Incredible DVD Adventure
So I was out shopping with my friends the other day. We went to this electronic shop, and were just kind of browsing around. I wasn’t really looking to buy anything, just kind of browsing around on a Sunday afternoon. I think I remember my friend saying he wanted one of those new electric scooters or something. But when I saw what they had in stock, I was amazed.
They had these portable DVD players that you could take anywhere. I thought you had to have a TV or some kind of monitor to plug your DVD player into. However, these fantastic DVD players didn’t require any external TV or monitor. They were of some kind of advanced technology I hadn’t seen before. These were small, about half the size of a laptop computer. And they included the screen as well. I was overcome with joy, until I realized you’d have to plug it in to some kind of electrical outlet. These can be hard to find in some parts of town.
That’s when the beautiful sales assistant came by and explained to me that they can also run from batteries. Some of these have batteries that run for up to six hours. I started to imagine all the possibilities. I could to sit in the park and watch movies, or go to the library and pretend to study, all the while watching my favorite DVDs. Absolutely and purely fantastic. But wouldn’t the sound from my DVD player bother the other coffee drinkers at Starbucks?
That’s when I discovered another wonderful thing about these wonderful little devices. Quite a few of these DVD players come with headphone jacks. That means you can plug in and listen in total privacy. Nobody around you would feel bothered. It was the perfect solution. And no matter what the sound was in your environment, your headphones would block them out, enhancing your DVD watching experience. Just as I was dreaming of my future, I thought of another problem. There would be no way a man of meager means like myself could buy one of these, which likely cost upwards of a thousand dollars.
That’s when I received the biggest shock of the day. They were just barely over a hundred dollars, and some were even less than that! I probably have that much money on the floor in my car. But of course, in these modern times, most stores accept major credit cards. Naturally, I picked one model that suited me, and made my way to the cashier. I have never looked back and have enjoyed my DVD player to this very day.
