The History of The Mobile Phone
It is now over 60 years since the first thought of a mobile phone were contemplated, it was 1947 when a certain Mr. W Rae Young and his colleague a Mr. Douglas H Ring, whilst working at the Bell Laboratories, had the idea of a hexagonal cell for Mobile phones.
But really it was not until the Eighties arrived before the first mobile phone actually surfaced, although at the time the mobile phone was not in everybody’s price range. These new inventions of the day could only be afforded if you were extremely well off or very rich.
The mobile phones of the Eighties were nothing like the ones you see today. For starters they were far too big to fit in your pocket or your purse, and because they were so big, they were also very awkward to handle.
Because of their size you could not hold them up for too long before your arm started to ache. Not a good idea really. Also the sound was not very clear; nothing like you get today. The main concept of these phones were to carry in your car when you were out and about.
It was Motorola that introduced the first truly portable handheld phone.
It was not until 1990, when the mobile phones were considerably smaller, that the first digital cellular phone call was actually made. This was in the United States.
Actually the first cell phones were only supposed to be for receiving and making voice calls whilst out on the road.
Like anything else with time, technology has moved on since the first mobile phones were introduced. You are now able to do a lot more on your mobile phone than just the making and receiving of calls, such as text messaging, video calls, taking and receiving pictures and much more. The mobile phone has got bigger technology with its smaller size.
As we move forward, so will the technology of the mobile phone, and soon the cell phone networks will be moving data around faster than a computer. They will coexist with the likes of WI-FI and WiMax.
Besides celular phones, the writer also frequently publishes information about bar kitchen stools and kitchen island stool.
