False Reports Of A McAfee Virus Caused By DAT 5958
You may see a false alert of a svchost.exe report if you’re a McAfee virus scanner user that updated your McAfee to DAT 5958 virus definitions. You don’t have to get payday loans online to fix the McAfee virus, however. DAT 5958 has already been fixed by McAfee virus scanners, however, and the workaround is fairly simple.
McAfee virus update happened at 6 a.m.
On April 21 at 6 a.m., a usual McAfee virus definition update was released with the name DAT 5958. Once Windows XP users downloaded the McAfee 5958 file, they received a report of an svchost.exe virus. The suspected file, though, was not a virus, but an essential Windows XP operating system file. If McAfee users chose to “fix” the problem, though, their computer would give them the blue screen of death or shut down.
McAfee virus fixes
As soon as McAfee virus issues were reported, McAfee virus scanner programmers jumped to fix it. The McAfee virus Security Updates page was immediately updated with DAT file 5959. If your computer did report an svchost.exe virus, but you did nothing, you may just need to update your DAT 5958 to DAT 5959. If you run McAfee virus scanning software, make sure you are running DAT 5959, and keep your virus definitions file – DAT file – up to date.
Fixing the McAfee virus
If you did quarantine or “fix” the McAfee virus or svchost.exe virus after your McAfee virus scanner updated this morning, then you may want to fix your computer before applying for a low rate personal loan. There is no immediate security risk to the McAfee virus, but it can cause your Windows XP computer to shut down or quit working. There are full walk throughs of two work arounds for the McAfee virus on the McAfee virus website. Once all McAfee download servers update with the new DAT file, properly working computers should download and install the update that fixes the problem.
